Mandy Lane
Interior Designer
Relaxed. Refined. Modern. Design built for real family life, without ever sacrificing style.
Mandy Lane founded Lane Home Design with a clear belief: your home should be the place where you exhale. As a wife and mom of two, she understands the beauty and the chaos that comes with a full household, and she brings that perspective to every project. Integrity, transparency, kindness, and clear communication are at the heart of how she works.
Her aesthetic is relaxed, refined, and modern: clean lines, layered textures, and color used with intention. She works across full remodels, new construction, and curated furnishing projects, serving families throughout North Dallas, Carrollton, Plano, Frisco, and beyond. She will also gently nudge you outside your comfort zone when she knows it will make the result more special. Those are usually the moments that make a home feel most personal.
Why Lane Home Design is on our list
Mandy designs for families who want a home that feels refined but actually works. She thinks about the whole house, not just the room in front of her, and she is honest about the decisions that will matter most in the long run. Her process is clear from start to finish, and her clients always know where things stand.
As a wife and mom of two, she brings real-life understanding to every material selection and space plan. Clean lines, layered textures, and a designer who has lived the same reality as her clients. That combination is harder to find than it sounds.
Q
How would you describe your approach to design?
A
Whether you are considering a refresh, a remodel, or a new build, I know the process can feel overwhelming. One of the first things I hear from clients is that they want their home to feel cohesive, complete, and welcoming: the kind of space that says come in and stay awhile. My job is to put you at ease, take stress off your plate, and be your advocate every step of the way from concept to completion.
I truly want to understand how you live day to day and how we can bring your vision to life in a way that feels elevated, functional, and personal to your family. And yes, sometimes I may gently nudge you a little outside your comfort zone to try something more unexpected or adventurous. Those are often the moments that make a home feel the most special and uniquely yours.

Q
What does a great client relationship look like to you?
A
A sweet family comes to mind: both mom and dad working, but they made time to understand the design process and started trusting me early to bring their entire first-floor remodel together. They wanted a livable, cohesive feel for their family to relax in. They understood where to invest for quality pieces within their kitchen remodel and furnishings, and they were also open to a commissioned art piece above their remodeled fireplace that really reflected them.
They were kind, respectful, and genuinely good people to work with. We had a wonderful working relationship, and quite honestly it was one of the best experiences I have had as a designer. That is the kind of partnership that brings out my best work.
Q
How do you design for the way families actually live?
A
I understand busy families because I have one myself. I know what it is like to want a put-together home but also one where people can feel relaxed and actually live in it. I ask very specific questions and try to understand the flow of everyday life and how we can improve functionality in the right areas.
I have two daughters of my own, so I understand what it means to choose materials that perform, not just photograph well. Every decision I make is filtered through that reality.

Q
What are you looking for on a first home visit?
A
My ears open first and foremost. I am there to truly listen. I want to understand how you live day to day, what is currently not functioning well, and what you ultimately want your home to feel like when everything is complete.
At the same time, I am naturally scanning the space and thinking several steps ahead. Clients often come in with an immediate focus, like wanting to renovate the kitchen, but part of my role is helping uncover how one decision may impact another. If we change the kitchen island layout, how does that affect the flooring? The lighting? The adjacent spaces? I am always thinking about the home as a whole so everything feels cohesive and intentional in the end.
Q
Tell us about a project that has stayed with you.
A
A recent client reached out wanting to simply change the color of their hardwood floors in the entry and kitchen. During our walkthrough, I immediately noticed the living room, which was part of the open-concept space, still had carpet that visually broke up the flow and made everything feel more dated and disconnected.
Removing the carpet was not even on their radar at first. But after talking through the bigger picture together, I explained how extending the hardwood throughout the living room would completely transform the feel of the home: a more modern look, one continuous material, and a main living space that felt larger and far more cohesive.
This was an additional investment the client was not originally expecting. But part of my job is being honest and helping clients think long-term, especially when they are already investing significant time and energy into living through a renovation. Sometimes the most valuable part of my role is helping clients see the full picture early on, so the final result truly feels complete and worth it.
