Design List Dallas exists because finding the right designer, architect, or builder should feel more like a trusted recommendation than a blind search.
Finding an interior designer in Dallas usually goes something like this: you ask a friend who they used, often on a totally different budget or type of project. You start scrolling Instagram after searching versions of hashtags like #dallasdesigners, only to get lost in a dream world of homes that are way out of your realm. Or you search “best interior designers in Dallas” and end up overwhelmed by a list of thirty sites all showing pretty portfolios. I built Design List Dallas because I believe there is a more thoughtful way to make such a consequential decision.
Every professional on the list has been reviewed. Not reviewed in the Yelp sense. Reviewed the way I would evaluate someone before recommending them to a close friend who was about to make a significant investment. I look at their work, their process, the kinds of clients they serve, how they communicate, and whether their track record reflects the standard I would genuinely trust.
The list is selective. That’s the point.
Getting on the list is the beginning. Every professional has a feature page that goes deeper than a portfolio. We ask each professional a set of questions designed to go past the surface answer — how they work, what they look for in a client relationship, the kinds of projects that bring out their best work, and who they are when things get complicated. We also share video, so you can hear them in their own words and see something a portfolio never shows: their personality. That connection matters. The professional you choose will be in your home, asking hard questions about how you live and what you’re willing to spend. We want you to know who you’re calling before you make the call.
That context is what makes a real match possible, because the right designer is not just someone whose aesthetic you love. It’s someone whose process fits how you make decisions, and who has done the kind of project you’re describing.
When you fill out our homeowner questionnaire, we ask real questions about your project, your timeline, your budget, and how you want to be involved. We review it and come back within a day or two with a specific suggestion — who we think is right for what you’re describing, and why.
