Dana + Vered

Interior Designer

Two designers. Two cities. Spaces that feel like they were made for exactly the life you live.

Dana Raveh and Vered Shrem founded D + V Design Studio as immigrants who had each built a new home in Dallas while staying deeply connected to Tel Aviv. That experience, of creating comfort and belonging in a place that is not yet familiar, is at the center of how they work. They understand firsthand what it means for a home to feel grounding, and that understanding shapes every project.

Their aesthetic draws on the warmth of Mediterranean living and the restraint of modern design: spaces that are calm, edited, and honest about materials, but never cold. Before anything is specified, they sit with clients and ask a lot of questions: how the family cooks, where they gather, what their mornings look like. For Dana and Vered, good design starts with how people actually live, not with how a room photographs.

Why D + V Design is on our list

Dana and Vered bring something unique to their process: they have personally navigated what it means to build a home in a new place, and that gives them a rare emotional fluency with clients who are doing the same. They listen carefully, guide confidently, and will tell you honestly when what you think you want isn't what the space needs.

If you want a team that will take your project seriously from the design center phase all the way through the final styling, and who will push back when it matters, D + V is worth a conversation.

A Conversation with D + V Design

Q

Who are you and what drives your work?

A

D + V Design Studio was founded by Vered Shrem and Dana Raveh, two Israeli designers brought together by a shared love for design, aesthetics, and the way thoughtful spaces can shape everyday life. With roots in Israel and lives now split between Dallas and Tel Aviv, our work is shaped by both worlds: the warmth and effortless lifestyle of Mediterranean living combined with a clean, modern, refined design approach.

As immigrants, travelers, mothers, and creatives, we bring a deeply personal perspective into the homes we design. We know firsthand what it feels like to create comfort, familiarity, and a sense of belonging in a completely new place, and that experience is at the heart of everything we do.

We believe good design has the power to improve quality of life, create calm, inspire connection, and make a home feel grounding and personal. That is what we are working toward in every project.

Q

What does a great client relationship look like for you?

A

One relationship that felt especially right was with a young family building a new home in Dallas. We started working together during the builder's design center phase, helping them select all of the foundational materials and finishes, and from the beginning there was a strong sense of trust and alignment.

What made it work was the balance between guidance and collaboration. They truly valued our expertise and gave us the creative trust to lead the design direction, while still being very involved and excited throughout the process. After the design center phase, they asked us to continue with the full home: furniture, lighting, styling, the whole curation. That level of continuity allowed us to create something cohesive and deeply personal.

The dynamic brought out our best work because it felt like a true partnership. There was openness, trust, and a shared appreciation for thoughtful design, which ultimately allowed us to be both creative and highly detail-oriented at every stage.

Q

How do you make sure a home actually works for the people living in it?

A

We always begin with a deep client meeting where we ask a lot of questions, because before we design a home, we need to truly understand how a family lives. We want to know everything: how they cook, where they gather, whether they host often, how their mornings look, where the kids spend most of their time, and even the smallest daily habits that shape the way they use their space.

For us, good design is never only about how a space photographs. A beautiful home also has to function effortlessly for the people living in it every day. The more we understand our clients' lifestyle and routines, the more intentional and personal the design becomes. That balance between aesthetics and real life is what ultimately creates homes that feel both elevated and deeply livable.

Q

Tell us about a project that challenged you.

A

One project that has stayed with us was a kitchen renovation in the Kessler Park area of Dallas. The space was very challenging: long, narrow, and rectangular. The client came into the project very focused on incorporating a large island.

We understood why they wanted it. An island often feels like the centerpiece of a modern kitchen. But after studying the space carefully, we realized that forcing one into this layout would compromise the flow, functionality, and openness of the room. One of the biggest challenges was helping the client see that sometimes good design is not about including every desired feature, but about creating a space that works as a whole.

Instead of forcing something that wasn't right, we completely reimagined the layout: clean and modern, with extensive countertop workspace, custom storage, and a flow that felt open and effortless. When the project was completed, the client immediately understood. The space felt calm, balanced, and highly functional: proof that thoughtful design is often about restraint as much as creativity.

Sometimes good design is not about including every desired feature, but about creating a space that works as a whole.

Q

What do you want homeowners to know about working with you?

A

Design is truly our passion. It is something we live and breathe every day. And because we have personally gone through the experience of moving to a new city and building a home from scratch, we understand at a very real level how meaningful that process is. It is not just about selecting furniture or finishes. It is about creating a place that feels like yours.

We also believe that strong communication and trust are the foundation of every successful project. Designing someone's home is a very personal process, and we work hard to build genuine relationships with our clients so they feel heard, comfortable, and confident throughout the journey. The best projects always come from collaboration, openness, and mutual trust.
